Having a delicious lunch in cool-looking uniforms.

After seeing many children go hungry at lunch or eat sugar cane sweets, American volunteers along with St. Mary’s Church support began a school lunch program.

Now over 100 hot cooked meals a day are served. The children get rice and beans, bread, chicken or fish and fruit juice. The price is one-dollar Belize (fifty cents US). If they do not have the money, they eat anyway.

By selling raffle tickets in Georgia, money was raised to buy fabric for school uniforms for the children. Local merchants and seamstresses were used to help the economy in Belize City.
